Wooddene Estate, Peckham, London

Initially Airtherm had been nominated to work closely with the mechanical consultant and architect to ensure full compliance was met with not only the Clean Air Act Memorandum for the final termination height but also the final appearance of the structure was critical for the surrounding area.

The new structure featured external perforated powder coated cladded sheeting, nine twin wall stainless steel chimneys four hour fire rated flues, platforms, access ladder, LED lighting system(s) and two aircraft warning lights.

We are returning to the site in September 2018 for the 2nd phase works, which consist of completing the installation of the horizontal flue systems to meet with the client program. The flues will be serving Hamworthy Modumx 254/750 boilers and 1nr combined heat and power unit. Upon completion of the flue installation our team of Engineers will be pressure tested each flue to 200pa (P1) serving each boiler and 5000pa (H1) for the flue connecting to the chp unit.

Wooddene was formerly a 1960s concrete build estate forming part of the Acorn Estate along Queens Road in Peckham, Southwark. The project regeneration will see mixed tenure development with an on-site energy centre that will serve our 333 new homes, along with the Acorn Estate
The new Wooddene Estate will benefit from new community facilities, retail space, landscaping and open green space with private and communal garden areas and a community pocket park. Improvements will also be made to surrounding areas and public spaces, including Queens Road and Hollydene.
